Warning Diabetics with Saunas & MRIs
Not sure why there is no warning larger for diabetics to NOT go into saunas, spas, mri's because there is metal in there and it will HEAT up!! They will be rendered useless when the heat hits it for an extended amount of time. Also, be very careful while sweating is fine, you need to replace the electrolytes lost! Be aware infra-red saunas, and saunas can cause blood sugar fluctuations. Lastly, HIGH amounts of Vitamin C make the sensor believe blood sugars are high rendering your alarms to go to a false High, so be aware and careful if wearing a continuous glucose monitor (cgm) Diabtics, carry quick acting sugar/snacks with you especially while exercising as blood sugars may dip into hypoglycemia like mine did today, and I would not have known I was hypoglycemic, unless my cgm went off saving me from getting too low. So, I am thankful even though it is frustrating, I figured I need to educate while getting better at my own struggles with weight and blood sugars. Feed My City
